UPDATE: RESCINDED Boil Water Notice – Unit 1

Issued: November 1, 2025

Due to a water main break, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the City of Runaway Bay public water system to issue a Boil Water Notice for Unit 1.

Until further notice, all water used for drinking, cooking, food preparation, washing hands/face, brushing teeth, or making ice should be boiled and cooled before use.

Bring water to a vigorous rolling boil for two (2) minutes to ensure safety.

Children, seniors, and individuals with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable and should take extra precautions.

Residents may use bottled water as an alternative.

The City will notify residents when water quality has been restored and the boil notice is lifted.

Please share this information with neighbors who may not have received the notice, including those in apartments or group facilities.
